Before we left for China, we attempted to add a silver lining to the "adventure" by suggesting to Lydia that maybe we could visit Hong Kong Disneyland. Word of advice: Avoid making vague promises to a child with the memory of an elephant. Don't kid yourself; She will NOT forget.So, as a final China hurrah, and a pseudo birthday celebration we booked a night at the Disney Hollywood Hotel and left Shekou for 2 days in magical Disneyland. Granted, the park is a mere fraction of the Florida version... but our little princess doesn't know any different, and our little prince is certainly oblivious to all things Disney. Although the park was relatively small, it was the perfect size for us since we only had Saturday and Sunday to visit.
Lydia's already asking if we can go back "someday". I don't think she understands that Hong Kong is just a wee bit far away from Wisconsin!!!

The size of Hong Kong Disney, or, rather, the lack, make it a very manageable overnight trip, that then can be used for the rest of their lives as "But we've already been to a Disney."
Lydia would NEVER get such attention from the princesses here in America...I think Hong Kong Disney wins hands-down for sure! What a let down it will be when she realizes in Florida that she only gets about 15 seconds...not minutes! Yes, definitely delay doing the Florida version until she forgets how famous she was over there. Is she ready to return to the land of being treated like a normal little girl? :) I am amazed that complete strangers wanted their picture with her. Can't wait to hear more about it!
